settling in

We've been in Asheville for a little over a month now. Though we've been here a short time we've had some great opportunities to meet people and explore the area. Here are a few of the things we gotten to do.

* Went on a family hike with llamas at Pisgah National Forest

* Went to a square dance fundraiser for the Lord's Acre (now that was some good old fun!)

* Visited the North Asheville Tailgate Market

* Went mountain biking with some folks I meet through the Asheville Mountain Biking Meet Up Group

* Lindy took a canning class at Earth Fare

* Visited the WNC Farmers Market (this market was incredible)

* Went apple picking with some friends at Sky Top Apple Orchard (the apples were for Lindy's apple butter canning project and humm is it yummy)

* Been volunteering at a community garden through The Bountiful Cities Project

* Saw Derek Webb play at the Grey Eagle

* Saw Shane Claiborne speak at Warren Wilson College

In addition to all this we've been enjoying being involved in the start up of Canvas, a new church plant in Asheville.

We are having fun exploring a new place, meeting new people, and getting connected.
