in the garden

We had a good time today at the "in the garden" work day. We weeded, watered, tilled and planted (beans, summer squash, and okra!).

I've been given a unique opportunity to be a community garden manager and volunteer coordinator (with Hands On Asheville) for the Emma Community Garden. The Emma Garden provides food for a lower income families as well as gardening education for school kids. It is a great project to be involved with! On Friday we were even visited by Mayor Terry Bellamy.
